Allow superscript (or subscript) in the note section#64

S

To study thai words I like to add the tone at the end of a syllable.
In difference to chinese there aren’t the signs I can add on top of a vowel.

For example: saL watL diiM khaF

I would like to add the capital letters in a small form on top at the end of the syllables (superscript) to make the flashcards more readable.

Hello Stella,
thank you very much for your request and the helpful example.
We haven’t thought about this necessity in some languages so far and will look into it!

You can use Markdown to format comments in Wokabulary. For example you can make text bold or italic using * or respectively. Markdown, however, does not support superscript.

But to add the tone marking you could use accent characters.
The easiest way is to use accents for marking tones#Tone_orthographies) like Macrons (¯) for flat, Grave (`) for falling, Acute for rising, and if needed also Circumflex (ˆ), or Tilde (~). These have the advantage that you usually find them on your keyboard so they are easy to insert. (On iOS you can long press keys on the keyboard to get a selection of accented letters).
Alternatively, on the Mac you can also use the Special Characters input (by pressing the Globe / Emoji key on your keyboard) to search for the Thai tonal accents Mai Ek ( ่ ), Mai Tho ( ้ ), Mai Tri ( ๊ ), and Mai Chattawa ( ๋ ). These can also be combined on Latin characters.
